Virtual Platonopolis

The “Virtual Platonopolis” project is announced by the Institute of Philosophy & Technology.

The Virtual Platonopolis project has been inspired by Plato’s conception of the polis and the Kallipolis as well as Plotinus’ aim to build a city of philosophers in Campania, and Emperor Julian’s similar aims to establish a Platonic city.

Virtual Platonopolis will serve as a virtual world, a metaverse, for philosophers, schools, universitites and groups who wish to connect online philosophically, collaborate in research and teaching and provide a virtual space for philosophical reflection and discussion both for no specialists and scholars.
